The serum lipids-levels of 16 ;cases of nephrotic syndrome, consist of 15 males and -ne female, ranging from 9 to 50 years old were studied in 1974.
The following results were obtained.
1. The mean serum lipids values of nephrotic patients were 608.1¡¾183.5 mg% for total cholesterol, 315.4¡¾77.8 mg% for phospholipid and 296.3¡¾60.1 mg%, for triglyceride.
2. A tendency was observed that-the serum cholesterol levels of nephroticc patients increase as their serum albumin level decrease.
3. The serum triglyceride levels of nephrotic patients were directly correlated with their serum cholesterol levels.
4. The degree of edema seems to be directly proportional to the levels of serum cholesterol in nephrotic patients.
